To celebrate the release of Despicable Me 4 in the UK, we had the pleasure of catching up with Gru himself Steve Carell to find out about the latest yellow-tinted adventure.

Gru (Oscar® nominee Steve Carell) and Lucy (Oscar® nominee Kristen Wiig) and their girls —Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Madison Polan)—welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. Gru also faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal (Emmy winner Will Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara), and the family is forced to go on the run.

Chatting to Carell, we talk about the crazy success of the franchise and why he thinks all the stories and characters still endure, the first pitch of the first film and why he was sold on it, the world dominance of the Minions and their popularity, why going back to the well was well worth it and bringing Will Ferrell along for the ride this time around. Also, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and Carell tells us of the fun they had making the film and why it has endured.
