Paramount Pictures has debuted the first trailer for Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated sequel ‘Gladiator II’.
The sequel continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome. Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honour to return the glory of Rome to its people.
The movie stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, with Connie Nielsen and Denzel Washington.
Based on characters by David Franzoni, Scott is returning to direct and produce the feature. David Scarpa has penned the script for the sequel, which Michael Pruss via Scott Free and Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher via Red Wagon Entertainment will produce alongside Scott. Executive producers are Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald. Also returning from the original film are cinematographer John Mathieson, production designer Arthur Max and costume designer Janty Yates.

The sequel hits cinemas on November 15th in 4DX and IMAX.
