‘Fall Guy’ star Emily Blunt has entered into early negotiations to join the cast of Steven Spielberg’s next film for Universal Pictures and Amblin.

Plot details are locked down but the movie is described as a two-hander, so Blunt would be playing one of the leads in the project. Based on a story by Spielberg, the film has his longtime collaborator David Koepp penning the script, with Kristie Macosko Krieger producing.

This would mark the first time Blunt has worked with the legendary filmmaker. Spielberg has stated that he has been a fan of Blunt’s work since the 2016 adaptation of ‘The Girl on the Train.’

Universal has dated the film for May 15 2026 release.

Blunt can currently be seen starring opposite Ryan Gosling in David Leitch’s ‘The Fall Guy.’ She is currently in production on Benny Safdie’s ‘The Smashing Machine’ in which she reunites with Dwayne Johnson.
